- 羟基芦丁与其它生物类黄酮: 羟基芦丁 (Oxerutins) 是从一种叫作芦丁 (Rutin) 的天然生物黄酮中衍生出来的,专门用于治疗静脉曲张及与其相关的静脉问题。这种特异性的芦丁衍生物对于治疗这些疾病是否优于其它生物类黄酮,医生尚不清楚,但是它是目前最被深入研究过的制剂。大约20项共有2000多名参与者的双盲研究,评估了羟基芦丁对于治疗静脉曲张及静脉机能不全的疗效。几乎所有的这些研究均表明,羟基芦丁的治疗效果明显优于作为对照用的安慰剂,它可以显著地缓解肿胀、腿痛及其它不适症状,且没有明显的副反应。总的来说,这些研究给我们在治疗此类疾病时使用羟基芦丁提供了较有力的依据。芦丁这种天然的生物黄酮主要存在于柑橘类水果及荞麦中。两项双盲研究提示荞麦茶对于治疗静脉曲张可能也有一定的效果,医学专家推测其原因可能是因为它含有芦丁的成分。其它柑橘衍生的生物类黄酮,如地奥斯明 (Diosmin) 和橙皮苷 (Hesperidin),对静脉曲张同样也有一定的疗效。
- 原花色素低聚物 (OPCs): 葡萄籽和松树皮内含有较高浓度的特殊生物类黄酮,称作原花色素低聚物 (OPCs)。蔓越莓、覆盆子、蓝莓、山楂及其它植物中也含有类似的物质。OPCs 是抗氧化剂,可能有助于改善胶原,减少毛细血管的渗漏及控制炎症。几项共涉及400名参与者的双盲试验表明,OPCs 治疗静脉曲张有显著疗效。例如,一项为期2个月涉及40名慢性静脉机能不全病人的双盲研究表明,每次服用 100mg 从松树皮中提取的 OPCs,一日三次,可以显著减少水肿、疼痛及下肢沉重感。另外,一些小规模的双盲试验表明,对于治疗静脉机能不全,OPCs 可能比从柑橘中提取的地奥斯明及马栗树疗效更佳。
- 积雪草 (Gotu Kola): 积雪草对于治疗静脉曲张及静脉机能不全的疗效有充分的科学根据。例如,一项针对87名静脉曲张患者的双盲研究,比较了每日口服积雪草提取物 30mg、60mg 与安慰剂组的疗效。结果显示治疗组均起效,而且口服剂量越大疗效越显著。另外一项关于94名下肢静脉机能不全病人的双盲研究,对比了每日口服积雪草提取物 120mg、60mg 与安慰剂组的疗效。结果也显示,其对于缓解病人的腿部发沉、不适及水肿等症状疗效显著。根据1992年发表的有关积雪草的综合分析发现,积雪草提取物可以改善足部肿胀、踝部水肿及静脉的液体渗出等静脉机能不全的症状,并呈一定的剂量性依赖性 (即剂量越高疗效越显著)。
