- 5-羟色胺(5-HTP):补充5-羟色胺可以影响血清素的水平。因为血清素被认为在体重调节中起着重要的作用,因此5-羟色胺被认为是一种有潜力的减肥药而被深入研究。在一项双盲交叉研究中,研究员发现尽管19名参加者没有自觉的减少饮食,然而服用5-羟色胺(每天用量为8mg/kg 体重)却降低了饮食的需求。安慰剂组平均每天摄入2300卡,而5-羟色胺组每天只摄入了1800卡。5-羟色胺的服用似乎明显加强了餐后的饱胀感。五周后,服用5-羟色胺的女性毫不费力的减轻了1.4kg。其他小规模的双盲研究也得出了相同的结果。比如,一项双盲研究观察了20名超重的成年糖尿病患者,结果发现未进行饮食控制而服用5-羟色胺(每天750mg)的患者在两周的时间里体重减轻了大约2kg。5-羟色胺的这个益处仍需要更大规模的试验来证实。
- 咖啡因 (Caffeine) 和麻黄碱 (Ephedrine):咖啡因和麻黄碱(从一种叫做麻黄的草药中提取)是中枢神经系统兴奋药。大量的证据提示麻黄碱-咖啡因复合物能够比较有效的减低体重。但其确切的机制尚未明确。咖啡因能够引起脂肪的分解并促进新陈代谢。麻黄碱可以抑制食欲,增加能量消耗。两者似乎能够产生协同作用,而食欲的抑制很可能是其中最重要的因素。注意事项:麻黄碱可引起严重的医疗风险,必须在医生的监督下使用。在美国,含有麻黄碱的产品是禁止销售的。
- 甘油二脂 (Diacylglycerol):甘油二脂是一种特殊类型的脂肪,在降低体重方面可能有前途。比如在一项历时24周的双盲研究中,131名超重的男性和女性被给予了减肥饮食,饮食中包括了含有甘油二脂或正常脂肪的辅助食物。结果表明食用甘油二脂的成员体重减轻得更多。甘油二脂看来是安全的。
